The VPFlowScope M can use 2 ways of assigning an IP address for a Wi-Fi network:
DHCP: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol for assigning dynamic IP addresses to devices on networks. With dynamic addressing, a device can have a different IP address every time it connects to the network. In some systems, the device’s IP address can even change while it is still connected.
Static IP: You can enter your own IP address. Note that this needs to match with the IP range of your Wi-Fi network (the first 7 numbers of your IP address). An IP address can be changed via VPStudio 2 (Chapter C1.2).
2. Establishing an Ethernet connection from your computer to your instruments
In order to establish a connection to VPInstruments devices you have to change the IP address of your PC so that the devices are in the same range.
|1. Go to your network and internet settings and open the Ethernet tap.||2. Click change adapter options.|
|3. A new pop-up window appears, now click Ethernet.||4. A new pop-up window appears, now click properties.|
|5. In this pop-up window double click “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/Pv4)”.||6. In this new window, you select the “use the following IP address”.|
|7. Fill in the IP address, Subnet mask, and the Default gateway.|
Your IP address has to be in the same range as the IP address of the Transmitter.
| 8. Click “OK” to save the settings.|
