C1.1. VPFlowScope Assemblies

Reading Time: 2 minutes - Video Time:

1. Introduction

In this chapter, we give a condensed and simple overview of how to assemble your VPFlowScope and how you can configure the settings within the device.

The table below gives for each type of VPFlowScope flow meter the sensor assembly and all of the subsequent parts. How to assemble the different flow meters is discussed in the following parts.

2. Complete sensor assemblies

2.1. Assemble the VPFlowScope M

The instruction shows how to assemble the instrument for configuration. Note that the safety cable is not installed! Always use the safety cable when inserting your flow meter in a pressurized pipeline.

1. Take off the red protection cap of the Transmitter2. Place the VPFlowScope M Transmitter (2) on the VPSensorCartridge (1). The direction of the Transmitter can be any.

3. Tighten the locking ring (green in the image above).

2.2. Assemble the VPFlowScope DP / Probe

The instruction shows how to assemble the instrument for configuration. Note that the safety cable is not installed! Always use the safety cable when inserting your flow meter in a pressurized pipeline.

1. Place the display or connector cap on the sensor module. Make sure that the O-ring is in the upper position for the display and in the lower position for the connector cap, and that it slides completely over the O-ring seal.2. Gently tighten the screw top.

2.3. Assemble the VPFlowScope In-line

The VPFlowScope In-line comes pre-assembled.

When your flow meter comes with the tubing kit, this needs to be assembled, please go to chapter D2. Installation of VPFlowScope In-line

The VPFlowScope In-line requires 12 .. 24 VDC for proper operation. A “no external power” message will be shown when te device is only powered through USB. Be aware that the IP65 rating of the device may be compromised when the protecive cap of the USB port is not placed back in the correct manner. Ensure a proper sealing with a little o-ring grease.

3. Next step

The next step is to configure your VPInstruments flow meter, by one of the methods described in the previous chapter:

C1.2. Using VPStudio to program your sensor
C1.3. Adjusting with the internal webserver.
